luke

Luke Welsh LLB Hons

Luke completed his law degree in 2007 followed immediately by the Legal Practice Course the following year. He spent the next 7 years practising Employment Law in two well-renowned law firms in South Wales, until deciding to pursue a career as a self-employed consultant in Employment Law and Human Resources.

Luke’s role within Personology is multi-faceted, from advising clients on day-to-day issues such as absence management, disciplinary and grievance issues and TUPE transfers, to more significant client projects including internal redundancies and restructures, investigations and change management.

One thing that sets Luke apart from the majority of HR advisors is that he regularly handles claims lodged within the Employment Tribunal and defends such claims personally in the event of the matter proceeding to a hearing. This allows Luke to gain insight into the key elements and best practices that are looked for by Employment Judges, which then, in turn, enables him to approach each issue from the view of how it would be considered before an Employment Tribunal from both the employer and employee perspectives, as Luke represents both.

Luke has a keen interest in keeping abreast of the continual developments within Employment Law and regularly blogs on such changes, providing employers with practical and commercial advice on how to acknowledge and implement such changes.
